Industry Through the Eyes of Enfield Poets

  • Dugdale Arts Centre 39 London Road Enfield, England, EN2 6DS United Kingdom (map)

Join Enfield Poets for an evening of poetry and conversation as we hear original poetry from six of their members.

As part of the Festival of Industry, Enfield Poets created a series of poems celebrating Enfield’s industrial heritage and inspired by their experiences and memories of working in industry. As part of this event, the poets will be interviewed by Skevos Loizou, from Maroon Community Media, about their work. Having the opportunity to discuss their stories in more detail and sharing more behind the stories that inspired their poems.

The poets sharing their work will be:

Anne Alexander
Michael Brett
Anthony Fisher
Anna Mickiewicz
Christine Vial
Gay Whymark

And their poems can be read or heard online here

The poems by Anthony Fisher, Christine Vial and Gay Whymark are about their experience of working in industry in Eastern Enfield. Christine and Gay left industry but Anthony is still working in Brimsdown. The others are about places or things from Eastern Enfield.
